Zoom Kobe VI(6) White Black Red Men's
The Zoom Kobe VI basketball shoes, the 6th installment in the Kobe Bryant series, were officially unveiled in Beaverton, Oregon on December 7, 2010. Drawing inspiration from Kobe's on-court moniker, "Black Mamba," these sneakers are a result of direct collaboration between the design team and Kobe Bryant himself, ensuring a seamless fusion with his unique basketball style. The design takes cues from the enhanced sole pattern of the Black Mamba, featuring a durable rubber outsole. In certain Chinese versions, XDR (extra wear-resistant rubber) is incorporated to provide prolonged wear resistance on outdoor basketball courts.
The 6th generation Kobe Bryant shoes exhibit a mature evolution, boasting a thick outsole that adapts well to prolonged outdoor play. The molded insole technology enhances foot contour conformity, ensuring superior comfort during physical activities. The inclusion of a full-length ZOOM air cushion and a lightweight integrated upper remains consistent with previous Kobe models, emphasizing practicality and performance.
Kobe expressed, "Kobe VI is a very unique sneaker with a strong 'Black Mamba' imprint. We have used many advanced technologies in the design of this shoe, striving to create the best functional basketball shoe." The design team, led by creative director Eric Avar, collaborated closely with Kobe to bring the essence of the "Black Mamba" to life. The upper features unique polyurethane "bumps" resembling snakeskin texture, strategically placed to prevent surface abrasion and enhance wear resistance.
To fulfill Kobe's vision of a superior fit, an innovative double-layer memory foam insole was specially designed, adapting automatically to the player's foot shape for a customized fit experience. The Phylon injection midsole, contouring to the foot, provides improved cushioning, while Zoom air cushion units in the back and forefoot deliver an extraordinary comfort level during on-court action.
The Zoom Kobe VI adopts the successful lightweight low-top design of the Zoom Kobe V, reducing midsole thickness to bring the foot closer to the ground, enhancing stability and comfort. Kobe's preference for a true low-top cheap basketball shoes , akin to running or football shoes, is realized in the new low-top design. The three-layer upper, incorporating Flywire technology, features mesh, Flywire, and polyurethane bump layers for increased breathability and durability. The hard rubber outsole, inspired by the Black Mamba, ensures optimal traction, with some Chinese versions utilizing XDR for extended wear resistance on outdoor courts.
